While drawing what was supposed to be a simple illustration of a big fat hairy guy with a Care Bear tattoo I started over-thinking about what a strange generation I (and many others) grew up in. So many of us seem to be defined by the popular culture of the 80s. I'm totally guilty of this as well. For years I've been debating getting the Ghostbusters symbol tattooed on my arm.

Anyway, this eventually turned into a bit of a satirical drawing. Hopefully you get chuckle out of it.

This was done mostly in Flash, with some added effects in Photoshop.

Yeah. I'm pretty excited too. They have some other awesome people working on it too. I haven't heard that all girls thing though. That's new to me. I don't know how I feel about that.

It should be great! :w00t:

Hmmm although the all-girls rumour is a bit weird - I adore Eliza Dushku and am always glad to see what new projects she takes on - but girl Ghostbusters? It doesn't quite sit right. It somehow always felt like the concept and characters was a guy thing - and I mean that in the best of ways. We'll see. It may not be true anyway. As long as the 4 main boys are back, that's a good thing. I wonder if Slimer will return too? :

Oh, Slimer HAS to return. I can't even imagine what they'd be thinking if they didn't include Slimer.

I was recently listening to the commentary on Ghostbusters, and Ramis said that Dan Akroyd used to call Slimer, "The Ghost of John Belushi"

I do hope so... it just wouldn't be the same without him! Belushi's ghost - cool! :D I wonder if he was the inspiration... I read somewhere that Belushi would have played Venkman too, had he not died.

You may already know about them, but in case not - have you seen :icontraditionaldanimatio:'s brilliant cartoons of the gang? [link]

Oh yeah, I've seen his gallery a number of times. I'm quite the admirer. He puts a great amount of detail into his drawings.

Isn't he great? His style reminds me of yours, actually - you both have a great gift for capturing detail and expression, and for design... Hurray! :) :w00t:

haha. I will tell you, but just appreciate how LONG it took me to figure this out. Years!

You export flash files as .png and it keeps the layer information and doesn't get any of that weird jpg relic crap.
