Lately I've been wanting to work on a more exaggerated form of caricature, and since I didn't want to offend any of my friends I decided to use myself as a subject. Not only did I want to do a caricature of myself; I wanted to do a caricature of myself at my absolute worst.
I am NOT a morning person, and lately I've been waking up at 5 a.m. for work. Originally I was going to do this drawing based on my mornings at the hostel I was staying at in Dublin (I'd drag myself out of bed just in time to make it down to breakfast before they closed up the kitchen, and I'd always show up in my dirty t-shirt and shorts, totally disheveled, whilst everybody else was primmed and made-up for the day). But then the other day I was sitting at my kitchen table in my early morning stupor and almost poured my cereal in my coffee mug.
I'm pretty proud of this one. I managed to work a few of my scars in there (getting stabbed in the nose with a fishing pole, and denting my skull on a bed knob) and my unruly hair. Not only that, but it looks like morning me. It's like looking in a mirror that makes everybody hideous.

I feel the sentiment. Mornings are the worst and this is awesome.

Urgh. Yeah. Even in the summer when I have to wake up early EVERY day, it never gets easier.

Poured cereals in your coffee? Well I guess it's better than coffee with pickles! :D My sister somehow dropped a pickle in my mom's coffee mug in a day, and my mom didn't knew why her coffee had such a weird taste until she finished it all. What a funny surprise! :D Still I don't see what's so strange about coffee and cereals.... :?.... Still awesome pic! :D

Oh, it's meant to be one of those things that you do when you're super tired in the morning. Pouring it into the coffee cup rather than the cereal bowl. I haven't ever actually tried it though.

The pickle sounds horrible!

Aha, well I usually feel very tired a few hours after I wake up, especially at school. I almost fell asleep during some class! :D
Yep, definitely not a cool combination... ^^;

haha. I've never been one of those types. I'm just really tired at wake up time, and bed time. Which often happen at the same time.

Well when I wake up, it's enough to wash my face and I'm awake, but in a hour or two I get so sleepy that I want to go to bed. Maaan and it's damn annoying.

The outside light is right on. That's how it is when I wake too. That new morning light should make me feel refreshed and rejuvinated... but it just depresses me. Looking at this picture reminded me how much I hate getting up. THANKS A LOT, JERK.

Oh, it's got to the point now that when I wake up in the morning it's still totally dark outside. That way I can pretend that it's actually about 2 a.m. though. Somehow that makes me more alert.

I apologize profusely for reminding you of our shared misery.
