Jedi Noghri by WonderDookie Jedi Noghri by WonderDookie
A Noghri Jedi. The Noghri are one of my favorite Star Wars species, and I've never liked how they were drawn (except for maybe in the Heir to the Empire graphic novel, but the drawings weren't very accurate when you compared them to the description in the book).

Edit: I don't know what I was doing taking off the gradient version of this drawing. It's infinately better.

Thanks man! I hadn't ever seen one of these in all of the books and stuff... but it seemed like it would be crazy bad-ass if there was a Jedi Noghri.

I think I read somewhere that Noghri Jedi are extremely rare. I had a character like that once, though. Friggin cool, too--kinda like this guy.

Sweet! This looks really cool, and I like the weapon a lot. The Noghri sure could kick some butt...

Thank you! I think that even the weakest of Noghris would kick some butt.

heh, I'm with you there... I hate how the Noghri were shunned and replaced by Synth-droids.... ^_^

See... I haven't really been paying much attention to the SW extended universe lately. I don't know know what the synth droids are.

XD I havent really either, but my brother has a ton of books and comics.... When I get bored I read one of the books, lol ^_^ Basically synth-droids are androids with "living" flesh covering their bodies to make them look human.... And they are controlled from a personalised crystal machine rather than having their own AI... ^_^

ha ha. Well thank you. I didn't think that the standard lightsaber was quite cool enough for a Noghri.

I don't know enough about the Noghri to judge. But I am fond of naginata.

Every picture I've seen of Noghri looks like a lizard rather than a cat. I like the nice touch of a light spear/staff. Zahn is top notch when it comes to Star Wars authors I agree, he is responsible for some of the most important non-movie characters like Thrawn, Mara Jade Skywalker, Talon Karrde etc. great picture.

Well, I know in one part of the book Zhan describes them as grey and hairless, so with that description it's sorta hard to do them too cat-like. Personally I've never been very pleased with the way that most people draw Noghri though.
I was actually going to do a whole series of different alien Jedis, but unfortunately I lost interest almost immediately.

No no. My Yoda one that I had already done already counts for my Star Wars drawing. I just edited this one, cause I got looking through my gallery, and really didn't like how the one I had submitted looked.

My next movie one will probably be up later tonight.

No kidding. I don't think that Lucas is giving Timothy Zahn the respect that he deserves. He should at least put SOME kind of reference to the Thrawn trilogy in the prequels. Zahn DID play a major part in keeping the love of Star Wars alive.
