Killer Croc by WonderDookie Killer Croc by WonderDookie
My "realistic" version of Killer Croc.

I'm really not fond of the newer versions of Croc where he looks so reptilian. I like it that so many of the Batman villains are at least somewhat feasible in the real world. For my version I wanted him to look a bit more generally creepy. I was thinking of him more as a guy who has a skin disorder that makes him look a bit like a crocodile. After years of ridicule and abuse for his appearance, he finally embraces his disorder. As a result he starts to mutilate himself (cutting off his nose, filing and capping his teeth, removing the skin on his cheeks, contact lenses, etc).

This version wouldn't have quite as many powers as modern comic version. But I figure if his skin disorder toughens his skin and deadens pain, he devotes himself to fighting skills, and he's generally psychotic, he would still make a pretty formidable opponent!

This is cool!! I like how you took away the whole mutated reptile thing about croc. Recently I've seen many versions of Killer Croc that look like a lizard man, and it's just plain stupid. My fav version of Croc is from Arkham Asylum, he'd be the perfect Croc if he wasn't quite so large.

Yeah. I'm really not a fan of those lizard man versions of Croc. Especially the ones that give him a tail.

At first when I saw the Arkham Asylum version I REALLY didn't like it, but I think that's because they made him so huge. When I look at the character with normal human dimensions it does look pretty good. I think the teeth could be taken back a notch though. The designs I will never like are Scarecrow and Harley from that game though. I really didn't like how they did those characters.

Oh man! I HATE the tail!!

Yeah, the only problem I had with Croc in that game was his size, I know he's one of Batman's strongest enemies but they overdid it, also, his mouth was a bit too big. If they had toned down his size, and shortened his mouth a bit, he would've been PERFECT.

Scarecrow and Harley could've been a lot better. BUT, I REALLY liked Scarecrow's glove, it gave a really creepy feeling. I also did not really like Bane's design.

That glove was pretty cool. I just don't understand why they made him shirtless. Going through the concept art from the games, it looks like the designers just wanted to make EVERYBODY shirtless. There were a lot of designs of Joker without a shirt, and even the Mad Hatter.

I get your point. I didn't like the fact that he was shirtless either. But, I suppose that was the look for Arkham's inmates. I don't know. I noticed nearly alol of them were shirtless, Scarecrow, Croc, Bane, Zsasz.

I'm actually drawing some Batman villains myself to interpret what I think they should look like. When I get them up, I'd like you're opinion.^^

Villains I'll be drawing

Joker

Two-Face

Poison Ivy

Bane

Mr. Freeze

Scarecrow

Killer Croc

Man-Bat

Ra's al Ghul

Clayface

Well I can understand Zsasz being shirtless. He usually is. The others being creepy just gets a little creepy though. Why are all the inmates only half clothed? eeesh.

I'll look forward to seeing those. You should throw Firefly into the mix too! Just for fun.

Yeah, that was creepy. Though I can understand Poison Ivy being barely clothed cause she's all about being natural.

Thanks.^^ I may indeed though him in.^^ Along with Black Mask.^^

The exposed cheeks and nasal cavity really add to the creepiness factor of this design. Nice work! :D

Thanks man! Yeah, I was trying to make him look a bit mutilated and frightening! Glad it worked.

No problem! Mutilation's always a nifty design gimmick to work with into a character- just look at Kronen from "Hellboy" :D
