Mr. Bean by WonderDookie Mr. Bean by WonderDookie
Another drawing that I did all digitally tonight. This was done without touching pencil to paper, which still feels a bit unnatural to me.

This time the drawing is of Rowan Atkinson as Mr. Bean (hopefully that is already apparent).

Aw... that's so perfect! I miss watching Mr. Bean. He was awesome. My favourite episode was when he went to the barber shop to get a haircut.

Thanks! My wife and father in-law are really into Bean, so I watched a few. It is really funny! I like the running gag about the three wheeled car he keeps destroying.

Thank you much. This was one of my first attempts at drawing entirely on the computer, so I was pretty pleased with the outcome.

Thank you very much! This was actually my second attempt at him. The first wasn't quite so successful. I'm glad this one worked. Sometimes it's a bit difficult capturing the character as well as the likeness (if that makes any sense).

Yeah I hear ya. Always takes me two or three attempts to get it right. Trial and error mostly. I know what you mean about capturing the character. So easy to just have them standing there doing nothing but actually getting their mannerisms across is tricky!

I love Mr. Bean. His selfish-but-innocent child's personality was both hilarious and heart-warming at the same time. The fact that he could get so much across without speaking a word was great.

haha. Yeah. He's a really funny character. There really isn't a current equivalent of him nowadays either. It seems weird that there isn't more physical comedy like he did.

I find that the shows featuring real people going about their business are much more interesting than Survivor or Big Brother.

Man, I love Mr. Bean (although, I think I'm the only one in my family who's a big fan of him- my dad was, too, though) :XD:

Readily apparent! Great job, all the wrinkles and folds in his face are perfect. Just bought all the shorts a couple weeks ago. :D

I've just recently watched those shorts. I really wish there were still comedians around that did that kind of physical comedy. It's a dying art.

AAAAAHHH, that is absolutely perfect. You have such a gift for caricatures. They're never TOO exaggerated; they're always just right. I don't know what I'm saying. Hopefully you do.

I echo Reymonkey's sentiments, though. Your interpretation of Atkinson as Blackadder would be awesome.

OH I know what you mean. I really appreciate that too! I'm always sort of tempted to take the caricatures and make them really wild, but I like the look of ones that are a bit more tempered.

I've never actually seen Blackadder before. Pretty good?

You definitely should. Blackadder was actually my introduction to Rowan Atkinson, and it's good stuff. Might be on Hulu or netflix, or pirated on youtube. You can find almost anything pirated on youtube.
