Mr. Murray by WonderDookie Mr. Murray by WonderDookie
Playing with the new style a bit more. Seeing if I can pull off a convincing caricature.

Just in case I've failed, it's supposed to be Bill Murray's character from Rushmore (Herman Blume). I just love those Wes Anderson movies!

Also, I used paper textures from :iconbunnymix: and :iconannfrost-stock:

I want to watch new movie too! :)
However, at first I should watch Moonrise Kingdom which have not shown in Japan until 2013.:(
I want to see it seriously.

OH, that's the one I was thinking of. I haven't seen Moonrise Kingdom yet. It has been released in New Zealand, but I'm too poor to go to the movies. haha.

I have a lot of movies I want to watch, but I haven't seen movies in theater recently, because I want to buy pen tablet.
I want to watch Avengers, new Batman, Brave, and more.
I hope we can watch movies we want. :)

I did see Avengers and Batman. They were really good! Brave is still on the "to watch" list though. I also kind of regret that I didn't get to see Prometheus in the theatre.

And I come to want to see Prometheus too!

Well I really enjoyed both of those movies a lot. It's actually a little difficult to pick a favorite of the two.

I just watched the Royal Tenenbaums after...oh, I don't know, my 5th attempt? I just kept falling asleep...but it ended up being a "top ten"-er. As Tallahassee puts it so adequately in Zombieland, asking who Bill Murray is is like asking who Ghandi is. Your Bill Murray rendition is dead-on!

haha. That's the thing about Anderson movies... you're never quite sure where they are going to fall until they are finished. Glad you liked it though. it's a good movie.

Thanks man!

Oh hello, speaking of which...
Actually, I've been meaning to comment on this for a while. I'm glad it is now the 15-comment-weekend.
Unfortunately, I haven't yet seen the movie (ah the shame). But I LOVE the colours here and oh my the textures. I think you aced it. No cropping either too, I see (well done).
The perspective of the cigarette is fantstic!

That IS shameful that you haven't seen the movie. You're going to need your fifteen comments just to explain how you haven't seen this film. Have you seen any of the Wes Anderson's other movies? If you liked any of them, you'd most likely love Rushmore.

Haha.
Yes.. it is. And yet I own Sense and Sensibility.
I haven't seen any of Wes Anderson's movies actually. I should look them up and perhaps fit into my busy schedule along with these 20 comments I'm struggling to reply to.

how did you cut out the shapes smoothly? I always do things in a backwards way, like make a shape with the pen tool, rasterize it then select the area with the magic wand.

Oh shoot. I thought this comment was under the Plankton one. For THIS one I just drew each shape in a different layer in photoshop using a textured brush, and then overlayed the paper texture.

What I did was I actually drew all of the shapes in Flash because I like how smooth you can make the lines in that program, then I basically did what you just said. Selected them with the wand and then overlayed a texture.

You've definitely got his expression down...especially his eyes. And kudos for the Wes Anderson reference. I know this is a Rushmore inspired portrait, but I could totally see you having a blast doing a Royal Tenenbaum character series....or the Bottle Rocket gang in the yellow jumpsuits.

Oh man. Tenenbaums would be fun. Especially Hackman's character.

Yes....Hackman's character is sweet as hell. But Richie is my favorite. Hell, they're all great. You should totally do it. After you do my Patrick Fugit portrait, of course ;)

Go bug Jason to get another page out! If I don't get a new one within the week I am going to have to pull the previous ones off my cube wall. And I don't want to do that.
