The mighty Rancor and his keeper Malakili (Yeah. I used to be a huge Star Wars nut). This guy has always been one of my favorite beasties. I used to collect a lot of the old Star Wars figures from the 80s, and now the Rancor is the only one that I still have on display.
I really am curious what people think of the new illustration style. Your input is appreciated.
I really love your new style. How do you do the crinkly-lookin' areas on each piece though; like the woodish-pattern on each piece? Is that a built-in pattern that the program already has or so you make all that from scratch?
Ahh see, now you've delved into a world I know little to nothing about: Star Wars. He is a pretty beastie though; I would say all that drool would be a bit of problem, but I guess it would be like owning a huge St. Bernard... with big fricken claws and you know... the teef.
i think it's awesome has a very storybook appeal. I bet "zombie and me" would look great in it once in a while its nice and rugged for the undead thing XD

Great style. I like the perspective on the background. It was sad when that fat man cried.

Dolores Umbridge: You may have heard rumors that a certain King of Rock and Roll is still alive. This...is...a...lie. Harry: IT'S NOT LIE, I SAW HIM!
Reminds me of this children's book on the story of the Golem of Prague-paper cutots. Aw...I always felt bad for him, crying over his lost friend. Poor bloke.
I love this new style, I like the textures, the shadows, and the 3D look/feel. Its like something an artist would create if given only construction paper, scissors and glue, and locked in a room with only a tv and starwars vhs/dvds. This would be the result.
I also find it hard to belive that its all digitally made and not with real paper products. Trying to think of how you created the subtle layered 3D shading look adds some mystery to it, and make it appear to be rather advanced as far as average amature internet artists go.
I love this. What do you mean that you "used to be" a huge starwars nut? (; I also enjoy the fact that I recognized what the picture was of before I read your discription. That rancor keeper was so emotional, funny and made you feel a bit bad for him while feeling happy for Luke's success. Rarely in films do you see the other side of a protagonist's victory over a creature/villian. I personally think episodes 1-3 were missing that humor the keeper showed and that depth at the same time.
*imagines the keeper playing fetch with the Rancor with a Gamorrean thigh bone, then scratching him behind the ear-holes when he brings it back all slimy with drool*
You've captured a heartwarming scene...could almost be a valentine's card...
Love the new style, but I think I've said as much already...

Anyways, it's very nice... you know that.

Yeah, I put way too much thought into this stuff!
