Sam and Max Halloween by WonderDookie Sam and Max Halloween by WonderDookie
Sam and Max trick or treating as Elaine and Guybrush. This was for a Halloween contest they were running over at Telltale Games (so I tried to throw in as many Telltale references as possible).

I originally had a bit of a dialogue going in this too, but cut it cause I liked the background too much.

It went:

Sam: How did you ever talk me into this humiliating holiday crossover? These pants are riding so high they're tickling my tonsils.

Max: That why I prefer to go au naturale Sam. Also, I'm afraid to muss my adorable bunny butt bouffant.

Sam: Well, now I know what polyester tastes like.

Happy Halloween... again. Is this the third or fourth time I've said that?

YEA, Sam&Max great humour..
I can recommend the game (old adventure 1993 by LucasArts) called: Day of the Tentacle
Quite hard to figure everything out (it has past-present-future), a real classic..

haha. My wife has been trying to get me to play that game for a while too. We even have a copy on the computer. I haven't quite got around to it yet though.

Well there you go; if the wife says so, you've to obey ;-)
If I look/read through your gallery, it's really a game you would enjoy. Maybe draw something funny out of it as well..

In this situation I think allowable to put on pants, specifically for peeing in.

I have no idea, but I miss them. They were great. The stuff Telltale is doing is the closest thing.

Great looking piece Dan, the coloring really rocks. My familiarity with Sam and Max is very vague, but that doesn't stop me from really enjoying this pic :)

Oh man. Now I totally feel the need to play the part of the comic book evangelist. "Have you heard the word of Steve Purcell?" Honestly, you should pick up the old comic books. They are incredible.

Haha thanks for the recommendation! I'll make sure to look for them at my comic shop. It's always nice to discover new stuff, even if it's old

I LOVE this! One question...is it my imagination or is that Wallace and Gromit depicted in the pumpkins?

Good eyes. Yeah, that's Wallace and Gromit. Two other Telltale franchises made it into the drawing too: Trogdor and Bone.

Love the colours here, you seem to be getting even better with your colour palette. The figures have great poses too.
I like the textures in the moon & the trees etc remind me of a recent ink piece you did too-I think a graveyard.
Cool pic.
