I drew this in honor of the fact that, as of February, I have officially read all of the Sherlock Holmes novels. Even The House of Silk.

One of my favorite descriptions from the series (I forget which book) was when Sherlock was mulling over a case. Doyle wrote that Sherlock was sitting in his chair, knees pulled up to his chin, with the pipe sticking out between his legs. I thought that would be a funny image to illustrate.

And here it is.

I'm nearly through the Memoirs now but only read the Hounds of Baskerville and the Adventures so far. So I still got some stories to keep me going. I love them, I don't know what I will read after them, everything will seem so dull compared :D

Thank you! It think it's all about the size of the pupil. It seems like if you make the pupil really small, it makes it look like people are staring into the middle distance and going a bit mad. haha.

That's awesome! Well you'll probably be doing your own fanart before too long then. haha.

May I say, it's about friggin' time you drew Holmes, mister? I knew if you ever did, it would be awesome, and I was right. I love how he looks like he's been up all night, obsessing over something. I know that quote, too, because it's from "The Red-Headed League", which is one of my favorite stories. The original illustration looked like this: [link]
