The Ghosts of Saturday Morning by WonderDookie The Ghosts of Saturday Morning by WonderDookie
Remember when they used to actually show Cartoons on Saturday morning? And kids would wake up at ungodly hours to watch Ultraman.
So... I'm getting old. I keep noticing that when I make references to 80's movies or shows around people at my school or work they give me a blank look signifying a complete lack of comprehension. People nowadays just don't know who the Dino Riders are anymore, and for some reason I find that sad. (I actually had this conversation with a girl at my work, and we figured out that Dino Riders must have been one the air when she was 1 or 2). I drew this one to commemorate some of my favorite cartoon characters from when I was a kid. From Left to Right they are: Slimer, Launchpad, Eek the Cat, Michelangelo, The Tick, Rocko, Wile E Coyote, and Destro.
It's got some composition issues, but I was just having too much fun drawing Destro shooting at The Tick to care. (and I orginally had Eek's eyes a shade of pink... but I changed it for some inexplicable reason).

I'm not familiar with Destro, but I have the same problem with the rest. I remember those... thought the Tick was a little later, though? Early 90's? I dunno, I'm old too, I can't remember these things reliably.

Yeah. I think that Eek was probably the early 90s as well. I've also reached that age where the late 80s and early 90s sort of blended together.

Yeeeah, I have trouble differentiating that sometimes, too. The stuff from my really early childhood I know was 80's, because I was born in '78 but the later stuff runs together.

Agreed. I just picked up Sam and Max and Pete and Pete this week. Pretty soon I'll be able to run my own channel.

Sad thing, one of my friends was at work the other day and none of her younger co-workers even knew who John Cusack is.

No kidding that's a good thing. Although, then again, if they haven't heard of Captain Planet, then how are you supposed to make fun of that "heart" kid with them? I remember when I was a kid and we'd play Captain Planet it was always somebody's little brother that got stuck with "heart".
