This photo was taken from an observation platform at the Tiputini Research Station in the Yasuni National Park. This place has some of the greatest biodiversity in the world, and is absolutely gorgeous!
Unfortunately much of the Yasuni is threatened by oil prospecting. You can read about it in a really good National Geographic article - ngm.nationalgeographic.com/201…
Only about a month after we visited Tiputini there was an oil spill in the river that runs through the park. A small indication of the disasters yet to come I'm afraid.
Anyone is welcome to use this as a stock image. If you do use it, I'd love to see what you make of it though!
